Every effort
is made to contact media prior to 6:00 a.m. for all-day school closure
or late start. Late Start – Classes begin two (2) hours later than
regular school days. |

If there is
going to be an early dismissal, that decision is usually made 2 hours
prior to the early dismissal time. Media is contacted as soon as a
decision is made for an early dismissal. When there is an early
dismissal, students in Deadwood are dismissed 15 minutes earlier than
Lead due to the shuttle bus route (Example: Deadwood release 12:45 p.m.,
Lead release 1:00 p.m.). |

Parents/Guardians can choose not to send their child(ren) to school on
inclement weather days. These absences are excused if parents/guardians
choose to keep them at home. |
